AUSTRALIAN MADE Natural Solid Queensland Boulder Opal & Sterling Silver Pendant This is a handmade double-sided pendant incorporating a natural, cut and polished Queensland Boulder Opal with two Chrysoprase Cabochons set in solid Sterling Silver and stamped 925 on the back. The opal is a double-sided freeform oval shape with veins of bright red, orange, yellow, green and blue opal on both sides. Approximate dimensions are 13x10mm and carat size is approximately 3.9ct. The Chrysoprase element are two 5mm round cabochons set back-to-back. The total length of the pendant is 63x20mm and weight is 5.6g. Only found in Western Queensland, Boulder Opal formed millions of years ago in seams within ironstone or sandstone boulders where silica rich water seeped down into cracks and crevices and over time formed opal. Only a rare few will exhibit the amazing patterns and vibrant colours associated with this type of opal. Photographs have been taken in various lighting conditions. Dimensions are approximate.
