Description Burslem Pottery Small Purse Vase Lily Design. A beautiful floral design vase in the Lily design. From the stoneware range produced by Burslem Pottery. In their studio based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. The design is hand drawn onto the vase. Then etched into the vase. This technique is called sgrattito. The vase, after the design has been etched on the vase, is then fired. After this firing, the vase was hand decorated. This hand decoration ensures that no two vases are the same. Due to different brush strokes and slight difference in glaze colours. Which makes every vase produced different and unique. The design and the hand drawing, with the etching is done by Steven Shaw. And the hand decoration is completed by Tracy Bently. Both are ex Moorcroft Pottery and Cobridge Stoneware employees. The height of the vase is 12cm.
